2015 is officially over and it has been AWESOME in so many ways, one of the most exciting years for me ever! It was a year of many firsts: the year that I started my first company and became a full time online creative, the first time I rented my own office and the first time traveling to some amazing places that where topping my wanderlist for a long, long time. So much has changed for the better since I made the jump to start my own company and live my life in the direction of my dreams. I learned a lot, especially about myself, worked with some amazing brands and companies, met a bunch of cool, talented people and made brilliant memories to look back at.

One of last year’s resolutions was to travel more. And regarding traveling, it was quite the year. I had the opportunity to see a lot of the world and with over 30 flights I traveled all over the globe, throughout Europe and from the US to Asia. One of the highlights was definitely my memorable trip to the Maldives, a true dream destination. It has been especially enjoyable to travel on these work trips together with my boyfriend. We get to share these amazing experiences, while he helps me to create content.

Another highlight was moving into our new apartment in the center of Amsterdam. Since we’ve been on the road a lot and I still haven’t fully decorated the place to my taste, one of my New Year’s resolutions is to finish this interior decoration project in early 2016. I plan to share some pictures of the apartment once it’s finished.

The office I found together with my partner in crime Sanne, who is a talented graphic designer with her own company in Fashionable Merchandise, is a loft in the south of Amsterdam. Renting our first office was a bit scary at first, since we both just started, but being able to work out of this creative work environment, surrounded by these crisp white walls and high ceilings, gives me so much inspiration and new energy. I’m one happy girl. We discovered that a lot of inspiring artists have spent time there in the past, even Audrey Hepburn! More on our office loft soon on the blog…

On top of all that good news, I reached 100,000 followers on Instagram. I never imagined I would reach this milestone in just about a year since I started.

So most of all I want to say thanks to all of you. I feel so lucky to be able to do what I love doing most and without all of of you, I wouldn’t be where I’m right now. I wish you all an incredible 2016 full of health, love and success. Anything is possible and the sky is the limit!

    wow! That sounds like a fabulous year! I am very happy, that you could make your dreams come true so fast and in such a beautiful way! I can imagine how it is, when somebody works very hard for reaching his aims and than, booom!… all comes true and all the hard work receives an award. I congratulate you, Merel! Your story makes me believe again, that there is some kind of justice in the world. I wish you many many more success and beautiful moments for your future, and a strong health and especially deep love.
    The most beautiful moment for me in 2015 was the moment, when I took a bath in the whirlpool of a hotel in the mountains. Maybe, now you laugh 😉 but it’s true, it was a magical moment, because of the amazing few, the very nice music and a glass of champagne with my husband 🙂
