FASHION WEEK MOMENTS AT THE ME LONDON

Perhaps you can recall my raving review of the ME London hotel from last fall? I just loved the vibe, the decor, the staff, the rooftop terrace and the suite. So you can imagine how thrilled I was to be invited to be its Blogger-in-Residence during this season’s London Fashion Week! The ME London is really one of the ‘it’ places to be during LFW, since it’s located very close to the location where most LFW’s events take place and obviously also because it’s an incredibly beautiful place. Many brands had their own suites at the ME London to host media representatives, influencers and fashion executives.

ROOM //
I didn’t think I could stay in a better room than I did last time – and boy, was I wrong! This Passion Suite was incredible. I could live there. When you enter the suite, you walk into a large hallway with a living room and bathrooms (yes, plural) on either side, ending in a bedroom with a 180 degree panoramic view over downtown London.

Little touches, like a staircase in the suite and the doors opening up to closets and rooms on either side, make it feel like a genuine apartment. I would love to live there! And ever since I left, I so dearly miss the friendly waiter serving a delicious breakfast in our suite, asking every morning: ‘would you prefer to have breakfast in the living room, or in the bedroom?’

BATHROOM //
The bathrooms are a story in itself. Both are located on little corridors off the hallway, but one bathroom even consists of two areas on either side of the corridor leading to the bedroom! The enormous bathtub and shower are on the left side, and the toilet and sinks with terrific lighting are on the right side, with large sliding doors. There are several wardrobe spaces and closets to make this feel like an incredible luxurious apartment.

PENTHOUSE //
You may have seen some of the pictures I took during my stay at the ME London on Instagram, and I have to clarify that the outdoor pictures were taken on the balcony of the spectacular penthouse, which was home of the @frontrow_thelounge team during LFW. The view from inside the penthouse was just out of this world, because the entire facade, top to bottom, is glass which offers an incredible view over downtown London. I could see all the way from Canary Wharf to the London Eye, Big Ben and Westminster Abbey and the new skyscrapers that are popping up on the south bank of the Thames. And at dusk, the lights around Covent Garden provided a lovely backdrop.

RADIO ROOFTOP BAR //
The penthouse actually had a sort of secret door, that led straight onto the terrace of the ME London’s rooftop bar and restaurant named Radio. It’s one of the very few rooftop bars in downtown London and Radio overlooks the entire city from the heart of the Strand. I already wrote about the delicious afternoon tea last time, so this time I tried the lunch menu and it was delightful. But even just for an evening cocktail before or after enjoying a show in the West End, this is a spot you don’t want to miss. Before you take the elevator to Radio, try and take a peek at the spectacular reception with its incredible atrium – and make reservations for your stay!
