GOOD KARMA ALL AROUND

When I first saw the Blue Karma resorts on Instagram, they looked like a dream. Even though I used to live on Bali, they seemed different to the hotels I had seen and stayed at before so I couldn’t wait to visit.

The entire concept of Blue Karma is very creative. Although one resort is in quaint Ubud and the other one in bustling Seminyak, they both ooze the same kind of relaxed vibe. A beautiful oasis with a peaceful aura and an artistic vibe, to really chill and unwind. The original, colorful paintings and sculptures create a very special ambiance.

BLUE KARMA UBUD //
We started off at Blue Karma Ubud, a really cute, green resort with private villas and large rooms surrounded by rice fields, lush valleys and palm trees. The central pool is a key feature, lovely to lounge next to or even to swim laps. The Private villas match the surrounding nature very well and most of them offer spectacular views over the valley and rice fields.

The villa we stayed at was the perfect size for a comfortable stay and as usual, I loved the outdoor bathroom with huge tropical shower! Located about 15 minutes outside of Ubud, the hotel offers complimentary shuttle services multiple times a day.

BLUE KARMA SEMINYAK //
A fantastic hideaway in the heart of Seminyak, the Blue Karma Seminyak offers a very quiet and beautiful retreat away from the busy streets, yet only minutes from everything Seminyak offers: restaurants, shops and beaches!

Situated just off the main road, this resort is smaller than the Blue Karma Ubud but has spectacular villas that offer every amenity one can wish for: air-conditioned rooms, large TV, a mini bar, a large sofa and spacious bathroom. It is half out in the open and half covered, the perfect mix for the occasional monsoon.

BREAKFAST //
The Blue Karma resorts in Ubud and Seminyak offer the same breakfast, which I really liked. If you stay at the same place for several days, it’s easy to get tired of the same breakfast. But this was so delicious that I looked forward to breakfast every morning, even though I’m not a big breakfast person.

What I liked most was the mix of a semi a la carte, semi buffet breakfast. I could even chose a Japanese or Lebanese breakfast, as well as traditional Balinese and European breakfast. The buffet was stocked with fresh local fruit and homemade products like bread, cake and jams and I could take as much as I wanted. Make sure to try the homemade Kombucha because it is amazing!

In the end, every travel destination is defined by the people that work there. And as at most places in Bali, the staff at the Blue Karma is not only very professional, but also extremely friendly. Some people may find it corny, but I love to be greeted with my name and a big smile every morning!

  1. What amazing resorts, so calming and beautiful, like they are part of the landscape. Love your coral beach tunic and that off the shoulder maxi- you look like you should live there in that pristine and perfect world!

  2. Blue Karma looks amazing in both places and your coral dress is so cute, making you blend in the exotic landscape. And btw I am always amazed by your beautiful photos and editing skills :), they look really unique. Whenever I’ll go to Bali, will make sure to stay at one of their hotels :). Wishing you a lovely day. xx
