For our last days in Miami we headed to the heart of South Beach to stay at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel, a marquee property. It was my first time staying at a Loews Hotel and this Memorial Day weekend helped make it a memorable stay.
The Loews Hotel is located very conveniently in the heart of South Beach, in a stunning beachfront location. We walked everywhere and only once took a taxi, to visit Wynwood, my favorite neighborhood in Miami. It was so nice to just take a 2 minute stroll to our favorite Italian restaurant Pane & Vino!
The fun started when we entered the lobby and were greeted by a friendly face that offered delicious smoothies. The lobby of the recently renovated Loews is gorgeous, with a stunning mural behind the reception. It looks like it’s carved out of a giant piece of precious stone and adds a special touch to the art deco vibe that the Loews Hotel exudes.
Walking into our room, it was easy to see where the recent $50 million transformation went: in every detail! The room has a modern decoration and the furniture is stylish, in rustic colors. I especially loved the large headboards of the bed. I was able to stack the many fluffy, wonderful pillows against the headboard and work, reach or watch tv for hours – if only the Florida sun wouldn’t lure me to the beach!
It practically looked like we were the first ones to stay in the room and I thoroughly enjoyed the lovely gift of champagne, chocolate and snacks that the hotel staff had left for us. From our balcony we had a clear view of the ocean on one side and the city on the other side.
The Loews Hotel offers a private, adult only area with cabanas and daybeds near the pool, which I loved. The beach area was extremely nice, as the staff took the effort to put out extra beds and lounge chairs so everyone who wanted could enjoy the beach to the fullest. We went out early on Sunday and got a first row spot facing the ocean, which made the Air & Sea Show just an unforgettable experience. There is just nothing like an ocean breeze and a white sand beach that gets me every time!
I didn’t have a chance to enjoy dinner at the Loews Hotel, but a special shout out goes to the truly wonderful breakfast that is served in Preston’s Market. I had the best avocado toast of my life – and I had many.

Wow! It truly looked like an amazing experience there. I lived in Miami for 4 years and miss these views. I wish I would have known about the Pane e Vino restaurant when I went to visit a couple of weeks ago. Italian cuisine is my favorite and I’m always on the lookout for new restaurants.
