We stayed our last two nights in San Francisco at the Park Central Hotel. Located right between the hip South of Market (SOMA) area and the hustle and bustle of Union Square, this modern high rise hotel is situated in a fantastic spot. While conference attendees may be thrilled the Moscone center is just down the street, I love how the Park Central Hotel is exactly one block away from both the MOMA on one side and and the Museum of Ice Cream on the other! Oh, and the humus place across the street is incredible.

ROOM //
For a city hotel, the Park Central has very large rooms and I especially liked the enormous floor to ceiling window. It essentially gave us a 180 degree view over San Francisco! Looking towards the west, I had a view over Union Square and looking to the east, I could see as far as the Bay Bridge, with the spectacular Salesforce tower in between these landmarks. So I definitely recommend a high room like the one we stayed at, which was on the 27th floor. A notable feature I really liked was the lack of an expensive minibar like most hotels have. Instead, the Park Central has a gift shop near the lobby that offers every kind of snack and beverage, plus an extensive collection of magazines, books and souvenirs.

FOOD //
The on-site restaurant Maso offers a continental breakfast buffet with a nice variety of healthy options like fruit and muesli, as well as traditional breakfast staples like bread, bagels, cheeses, deli meats, pancakes and waffles. If you’re in a hurry to explore the city, the Park Central offers a ‘Grab and Go’ breakfast option in the lobby as well.

GYM //
If you’re more interested in fitness than food and snacks, the 24/7 accessible gym on the 4th floor has every machine and dumbell you could wish for. It was quiet when we were there in the afternoon, although I was told there are more gym rats early in the morning.

Whether you’re in San Francisco for business or pleasure, I highly recommend the Park Central. With the Moscone Center just down the street and every possible brand store across Market Street in the other direction, this hotel has everything you could possibly want and need to make this your home away from home in San Francisco.
