Bedside beauty stories

Bedside essentials Maison+Balzac Kielhs

Although most of my daily skincare routine takes place at my bathroom sink, I do like to keep some beauty products on my nightstand. I hate having clutter on my bedside table, so I like keep things simple and only keep three essentials there that I use on a daily basis:

  1. Maison+Balzac La creme de la creme€ 22 (about $24) Available at www.nuvo-niche.com
If you’re looking for something that works double duty, Maison + Balzac – La creme de la creme hand and body cream is my go to product for dry, dehydrated winter skin. This lightweight cream is gentle, nourishing and intensively moisturizing, but without the stickiness. The thing that I hate about most creams is that feeling of greasy skin after applying. I’ve tested quite some creams but nothing sinks in (yet works) quite as good as this Creme de la creme by Maison + Balzac. It leaves my hands look hydrated and feeling beautifully soft, an absolute favorite!

  1. Kiehl’s lipbalm #1 – € 6,5 (about $7)  available at www.saksfifthavenue.com
Applying a lipbalm just before I hop into bed is an absolute essential for me as I love waking up with hydrated lips in the morning. I apply Kiehl’s lipbalm #1 before bed and due to its extremely thick consistency it is still there when I wake up! This lipbalm knows how to work its magic on my always-impossibly-dry lips but be warned: it has an awful taste – and smell to match it. It’s okay to endure in the night, but I wouldn’t use it during the day. This product is quite versatile, besides using it as a lip balm I also like to apply it around my cuticles. The rich balm is just perfect to help soften my hands and make them more presentable.

  1. Glass of water
Last but not least, I always have a glass of water – if that counts as a beauty essential – to keep hydrated during the night.

Well, that’s about all I have to say about my bedside manners. Tell me, what do you have on your nightstand to help you through the night?
