Valentine’s Day is literally just around the corner and I can’t think of a better occasion to create ultimate kissable lips! Lately I’ve been updating you with some tips and tricks to rehab cracked and dry lips (read here, and here), but I recently discovered a funny trick that actually works to get you those voluptuous and healthy lips!

If you google ‘’voluptuous lips’’ you’ll find millions of different beauty gadgets that promise you the world but actually are a complete waste of money. However, I did find a fascination video on Youtube of a beauty product that naturally enhances your lips: Fullips. It basically works like this: the cap forms a vacuum seal around your mouth and while you create suction it draws blood towards the lips. So it simply stimulates the circulation into the lip area and makes them look naturally plumpier. But… apparently you can achieve similar results with a shot glass or a cap. So, hello to a DIY beauty secret that doesn’t cost any money!
SELECT A CAP
So you don’t necessarily need to buy a Fullips product, but to get nice results it’s definitely important to find something that fit your lips perfectly! I started by grabbing a bunch of bottles and carefully tried all the caps. My experience is that you don’t want too much of the skin around your lips to be sucked in the vacuum, because then you will end up with a lot of reddnes around your lip area. So make sure that the edge of the cap is very close to the line of your lips. Also, I found it a bit painful when the edges are too thin. Eventually I found my perfect cap on a bottle of Clinique clarifying lotion. It has a wide rim and it creates good suction on the targeted area.

SO, HOW DOES IT WORK?
1. Coat your lips with a good moisturizing product. For example: Rosebud salve

2. Place your selected cap firmly on your lips.

3. Then slowly suck the air out until you feel a gentle suction and hold it for about 15 -20 seconds. I know, it looks and feels weird!

4. Repeat the steps and move the cap around your mouth until you’ve reached your desired fullness.  WARNING: Please be careful and make sure not to suck too hard or else you might get some ugly bruising! Imagine how embarrassing that would be on Valentine’s Day?!

RESULTS: It works, with very impressive results! But here is the unfortunate catch: the results are quite short-lasting. The effect wears off in about one to a maximum of two hours, depending on the intensity and duration of your ‘’treatment’’.
