I admit to having a drinking problem

Usually I start my day with half a glass of lemon juice mixed with hot water, then I may have a glass of water with my lunch and one or, sporadically, two cups of tea after dinner. And that‘s about it for a day. I’m never thirsty, but I know I don’t drink enough because my lips look chapped, a classic sign of dehydration.

Kiyoko Lipbalm 100%natural without parabens

To give my overall health, but especially my skin and lips, a boost I decided to challenge myself to drink at least 2 liters (about half a gallon) of water a day. It sure helped, but my lips were still a bit dry.

Especially in Winter a great lip balm is the key to soft and hydrated lips. When selecting a good balm you want to find one without chemicals and parabens because these ones dry out your lips even more. My absolute favorite balm is by Kiyoko. They make a balm with 100% natural ingredients such as cacao butter, vitamin e, lanolin, honey and Japanese wax. An the best thing? Kiyoko just launched a super cute limited edition together with Amsterdam based store Restored. Although their regular packaging is already adorable on its own, this limited edition has a tres chic nude and copper foil with a special text.

  1. My lips are always chapped no matter how much Burt’s Bees Honey Lip Balm I apply and now I know why. I hate drinking water so I don’t but I just read that it takes 20 days to form a habit as well as break a habit. So I might try drinking more water and see if that cures the chapped appearance of my lips. Lovely photos x
